School Day
Travelling to School
We actively encourage our pupils and staff to walk, scoot or cycle to school wherever possible. We also provide access to a Walking Bus from the local community centre. Further information can be found by emailing the office.
We understand that sometimes there is no alternative to driving to school. Where a car must be used we ask parents to drive only part of the way then stride or scoot the rest of the journey. We have a 5-10 minute walk zone that we ask parents to park outside of. If you do have to drive your child(ren) and stop in the near vicinity please do so legally, safely and with respect for our neighbours and local residents. It is not acceptable to park or wait on double yellow lines, on the school zigzags or across residential driveways for any period of time.
Start and Finish Times
Children attend our school for 32.5 hours per week. Infant children attend 8:40am-3:10pm and Junior children attend 8:50am-3:20pm. Please see below for full timings.
Infant Children
Drop off for Infant children (Reception, Year 1 & Year 2) is between 8:40am and 8:50am via the Infant Gate. Registration is at 8:50. Parents are asked to walk their children to their classroom.
Pick up for Infant children is at 3:10pm from the Infant playground.
Junior Children
Drop off for Junior children is between 8:50am and 9am. Registration is at 9am. Parents can walk their children down the main school drive and on to the Junior playground where they can then walk in to their classroom.
Pick up for Years 4, 5 and 6 is at 3:20pm from the Junior playground.
Pick up for Year 3 children is at 3:20pm from outside the Year 2 classrooms by the trim trail. This is to alleviate congestion on the playground.
For those that have children in both the infant and junior school, we ask that after dropping off your infant child that you move towards the junior playground. This playground will be supervised by leaders so parents can leave the playground if happy to do so.
The Haven Children
Drop off: For children in The Haven, classroom doors will be open at 8:45am and all children are expected to arrive by 9am for registration.
Pick up: The Haven children should be collected at 2:45pm (unless separate arrangements are in place due to inclusion).
Break Times
All children have a 20 minute morning break time, where they are invited to bring in a fresh fruit or vegetable snack to eat.
Children also have a 1 hour lunch time, the timings of which are staggered throughout the year groups. This time is split between eating and playing.
Infant children also have an afternoon play.
