Dear Parents and Members of the Community,

As part of our commitment to providing the very best educational experience for every child, we are seeking to strengthen our Governing Body by recruiting new school governors to join the Federation of Wood Street Infant and Worplesdon Primary School.

This is an especially exciting time for our Governing Body as we prepare to join the South Farnham Educational Trust (SFET) Academy. This transition marks a significant step forward in our journey to enhance educational outcomes, share best practices, and broaden opportunities for our children and staff.

The Governing Body plays a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of our schools, supporting the Executive Headteacher, and ensuring that our resources are used effectively to deliver high-quality education. Governors are instrumental in upholding our shared vision: “To inspire a love of learning by providing a challenging and broad curriculum through which all children can achieve personal success.”

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about education and community development. You do not need to have prior experience in education- just a willingness to learn, contribute, and collaborate. We welcome applications from parents, carers, and members of the wider community who reflect the diversity and values of our schools.

I joined our governing body in 2022 and during my time as Governor and Co-chair of Governors I’ve found the role to be incredibly rewarding. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to key initiatives such as procuring a new catering supplier, developing a proposal for a new nursery, selecting an academy to join, reviewing curriculum implementation, supporting the school through its MUGA application, and helping shape inclusive policies that reflect the needs of our diverse school community. Being part of the Governing Body has given me a meaningful way to contribute to our schools and support the community that has given so much to my own family.
