Welcome to Wood Street Nursery & Infant School

Our mission is to create a nurturing, inclusive early years environment that builds strong foundations for learning, supports local families, and strengthens the school’s role in the community.

The nursery setting is in a large classroom with a securely fenced outdoor play and learning area. The nursery offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, high standard of teaching, and individual attention is given throughout a child’s nursery journey.

The classroom spaces and provision are carefully planned to ensure the children in our care have the best opportunity to build their confidence and independence whilst learning all the basic skills they need to give them a head start, as they take their next steps in life.

We believe in giving children the opportunity to learn traditional basic skills, both social and academic, while encompassing the values and objectives outlined in the Early Years curriculum. We provide a range of age-appropriate activities to extend and broaden each child’s learning experiences and encourage our children to learn and discover through play, remembering that childhood can, and should, have many magical moments.
