Unicef Rights Respecting School
In 2010 Worplesdon Primary School became a Level 1 Unicef Rights Respecting School.
In March 2015 Level 2 Status was awarded. This is a fantastic achievement for the School.
A Rights Respecting School teaches children that they have rights under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). UNCRC has 54 articles that state what it takes for a child to have a safe, happy and fulfilled childhood.
All of the articles are based around the child's right to:
- A good education;
- Clean water;
- Nutritious food;
- Medical care.
From this starting point the children also learn their responsibility to respect other's rights in all relationships within the community.
